THE GAME
Terrain, timing and a handful of survivors
Myth: The Fallen Lords was Bungie’s 1997 real-time tactics game. There is no base to construct or resource supply to expand. Your attention stays on the soldiers already in the field, their positions, and the enemies approaching them. Losing a useful unit can change the rest of a battle.
Archers, warriors and explosive-throwing dwarves reward different approaches. Height and spacing matter; a careless attack can hurt your own troops. Spread out, watch the ground, and bring vulnerable specialists forward only when the front line gives them room.
Pete Koomen’s browser project appeared in October 2026 under the title Myth: The Fallen Levels. The author combines a recompiled Myth II executable with Project Magma’s The Fallen Lords single-player and network map packs. It is an unofficial adaptation, with the earlier campaign running through the later engine.
TAKE THE FIELD
How to play Myth in your browser
- Open the game. Allow the initial engine and shared data download to finish. Additional map data loads when a level needs it.
- Start with training. Use the training map to learn selection, orders and camera movement before committing to a campaign battle.
- Keep the army together. Let tougher troops screen ranged units. Leave space around explosives and avoid crowding friendly soldiers into a blast.
- Choose your next fight. Look over the terrain before advancing. A clear firing position is often more useful than charging the closest enemy.
YOUR SESSION
Desktop play and saved settings
Use a desktop browser with a keyboard and mouse. The host downloads its own game resources, so there is no file picker asking for an installed copy. Keep the page open while a map is loading, particularly on a slower connection.
The browser remembers preferences such as audio and player settings. Persistent campaign saves are not documented by the host. Keep your game tab open during a session rather than relying on closing it and resuming later.
Before you play
Is this the original 1997 executable?
The browser project uses the Myth II engine with Project Magma’s The Fallen Lords maps. Its name is Myth: The Fallen Levels, and it is a fan adaptation.
How does multiplayer work?
Open Multiplayer Game, host a room, and share its invite code or link. Another player can use Join a game to enter that room. The invite code connects friends; it is not needed to open the campaign.
Do I need to buy or upload game files?
The linked public host supplies the resources its browser build uses. Its startup loads the engine and data directly, without an upload step.
