THE GAME

What is Step On It?

Step On It is NavigatorSharp’s unofficial recreation of LEGO Racers, the 1999 game developed by High Voltage Software and published by LEGO Media. It combines colourful themed tracks, custom brick-built cars and item battles. The project builds on community work to bring the classic to modern browsers.

A good lap needs more than speed. Learn the corners and collect power-up bricks as you go. Items let you disrupt rivals or help your own kart, so a close race can change quickly. Experiment with the car builder for a more personal ride.

How to play LEGO Racers online

  1. Open Play now, wait for the launch screen to finish loading and choose Play. Keep the tab open while the game fetches its first data package.
  2. Choose Single Race for a short first session. Pick a driver and track; Joan of Kart and Imperial Grand Prix are one starting combination.
  3. Accelerate away from the grid, steer through the corners and collect items. Use a power-up when a rival is close or a clear stretch gives you room to benefit.
  4. Try powersliding once you know the route. Keep your first laps focused on clean turns and avoiding walls before pushing for a faster time.

Saves, multiplayer and mobile play

The browser edition keeps save data on your device. Return with the same browser profile and host address to keep using it. Clearing site data or playing in a temporary browser session can remove that progress. Treat browser saves as local; they do not automatically follow you to another device.

The host provides keyboard, touch and controller input, plus an online multiplayer mode. A solo race is the quickest way to learn the handling before joining others. Mobile players can use the on-screen controls; the experience depends on the device and browser. Check the input settings if the default layout does not suit you.

The game downloads more data as needed, so a later track can pause to load. A stable connection helps when opening a course for the first time.
