THE GAME
What is Poke Survivor?
Poke Survivor, also known as PokéSurvivor or PokeSurvivor, is a Pokémon survival game by JPTER78. It combines an expanding monster collection with a survivors-like loop: move through wild hordes, gather experience, and shape your attacks with each level-up.
Your active move fires automatically. The challenge is finding room to move while enemies close in. The creator lists 966 playable Pokémon across nine regions, evolving moves, shiny variants and rare rifts leading to legendary encounters. This is a fan game, unaffiliated with Nintendo or The Pokémon Company.
YOUR FIRST RUN
How to play Poke Survivor
- Choose your partner. Open the game and sign in or select Play as guest. On a first visit, an eight-question personality quiz suggests a partner; you can accept it or choose another.
- Enter the dungeon. Select Play from the main menu. Steer your Pokémon through the arena while its active attack fires for you.
- Collect experience and pick upgrades. Level-up cards offer new moves, improvements or stat boosts. Choose upgrades that support the attacks you actually use.
- Build toward evolved moves. An attack needs its maximum level and the matching upgrade to evolve. Check the creator’s move guide for each combination.
First-run tip: Give yourself an escape route before collecting experience. A pickup is less useful if reaching it leaves you surrounded.
BRING YOUR FRIENDS
Online co-op and saving progress
Online co-op supports up to four players. Use the Friends menu to add players by nickname, invite them to a room, then start together. The game’s guide describes shared experience and reviving teammates by standing beside them.
Use an account for lasting progress. The live game labels guest mode as not saved. Sign in on the creator’s site for cloud saves and to continue on another device. The downloadable edition on itch.io is solo-only and has separate browser saves.
Before you play
Is Poke Survivor free, and do I need an account?
The creator offers the game free of charge. You can try it as a guest without signing up; use an account if you want your progress saved online.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Open the game in a mobile browser and hold the device in landscape. Drag to move, tap a move icon to switch attacks, and use the pause button in the top-right corner.
Does Poke Survivor have English?
Yes. English and Spanish are supported. The game initially follows your browser language; you can change the language in Settings.
Is this the same as Pokémon Showdown?
No. Poke Survivor is about moving through hordes and upgrading automatic attacks. Pokémon Showdown is a separate browser battle simulator focused on turn-based battles.
